Baby Gorilla Moved to Chicago

Azizi

The first gorilla ever born at the Louisville Zoo moved to Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo this weekend. Azizi, who's name means "precious one" in Swahili, was born on December 4 and now tops the scales at 10 pounds. Azizi's father, JoJo, is a 505 lb. silverback and will make the move with Azizi, along with 6 female gorillas. Zookeepers at the Louisville Zoo will be adding 3 new gorillas to the 6 that are staying behind after Azizi's group leaves. Chicagoist loves baby animals and cannot wait to personally welcome Azizi to Chicago. A trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo is required ASAP.
