that sign is bad-ass! i used to live w/in walking distance, and just moved up to logan square. when i used to drive home at night, margie's was the welcome home sign after a long night out ;)

1. My often-used nickname is Marge. It is sometimes replaced by "Margie." Thus, props. 2. The font for their sign is fucking unreal. I love that sign so very much. The swirly M reaffirms that Ms are the coolest looking letters ever, and the straight-down-no-hoook G is way underappreciated. Also, that E is the old Esquire style, and I love its classic by dapper curves. Uh, awesome. Screw being lactarded, I am hitting up Margie's all the time. Junk in the trunk.

Oooh, I went to Margie's last night. Very busy, and as I waited for my banana waffle cone, I wondered if it would be a good idea to replace my soup bowls with some oversized shells like the ones they have at Margie's.

that bucktown special (bananas, hot fudge & marshmellow) with chocolate ice cream is the bomb! also recently discovered - the strawberry shortcake sundae; woah, bring a friend & split it cuz it's too good to eat alone.

I guess I'll be the first to say that I don't like Margie's ice cream. I find it bland and tasteless, and the hot fudge is downright salty. Nevertheless, the experience of Margie's is like no other and I do enjoy their hand-dipped turtles.
