Coyote Breaks Into Lincoln Park Zoo

In a strange role reversal, a wild coyote actually checked himself into the
Lincoln Park Zoo
yesterday. The coyote entered the zoo and went unnoticed as he strolled past hundreds of patrons.

Apparently spooked by the hordes of people, the coyote jumped into the wart hog enclosure. "After some nose-to-nose encounters with curious wart hogs--and with wild African dogs through a wire mesh fence dividing the two habitats--the coyote was trapped by zoo officials."

Sadly, the coyote had to be put to death in order to test for possible rabies contamination of the animals and zoo staff encounted.

Chicagoist hears Disney and Warner Bros. are already in negotiations for the movie rights, which will star Wile E. Coyote and Pumbaa.
