That Must Be One Damn Good Sandwich

Oprah Winfrey - Photo: http://www.ksby.comSo, Oprah Winfrey's out in California and orders a sandwich from a restaurant. The sandwich is so good that when Oprah hears that the restaurant is going to go out of business, she decides to buy the place. Oprah says, "It turns out this was the most expensive sandwich I've ever had."

The restaurant is the Art Cafe & Bakery in San Luis Obispo and the sandwich was chicken curry on homemade white pepper-jack bread. Margaux Sky, the cafe owner, said she was considering selling the cafe because of the long hours and modest profit. She says she was surprised that Oprah wanted to buy it because.. you know, "it was just a sandwich." Less than 24 hours later, having never met, Oprah sent Sky a check. Oprah, who is now off of her low carb, no bread diet, has never even step foot into the restaurant.
