West Fest, Arts Walk

SpasmodicaOur friends at Rotofugi reminded us that this weekend is West Fest and the East Village Arts Walk in, you guessed it, West Town and the East Village. The Arts Walk features over 50 East Village artists, many of whom have opened their studio spaces to let in the hobos like you. Grace Montemar, better known as Spasmodica, is showing a full retrospective of her plush line at Rotofugi, so get your cute on and stop by. West Fest is on Chicago between Damen and Wood.

This is the second East Village walking arts tour but the very first West Town outdoor festival. The West Town Chamber of Commerce is promising "a grass roots, hip, neighborhood street festival with local live music of various genres during the day including cutting edge jazz, reggae, Ukrainian, and Latin bands." Yes, cutting edge Ukrainian bands, where have you been all my life? Catch Urge Overkill on Saturday and Califone and Local H on Sunday; beam me up to the full schedule, Scotty.

Maps for the walk will be available at the entrances to the festival, or you can download one from Layne Jackson.
