Thanksgiving Parade

Thanksgiving Parade - Photo: http://www.chicagofestivals.org/We wish we could recommend going to the Thanksgiving Parade tomorrow, but it starts at freaking 8:30AM and we're expecting a hangover until at least 10. Seriously, who is going to start lining up for the parade at like 7?!

For those who are up to braving it, the parade is pretty much what you expect from a Thanksgiving Day parade - clowns, floats, big balloons, bands, and an appearance by Santa. This year marks the 71st year that Chicago has had it's Thanksgiving Day Parade and it's estimated that 350,000 people will show up and another 1.2 million will watch it on TV. The route is straight up State Street from Congress Street north to Randolph Street. Giving the better-known Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York a run for it's money, last year our parade featured more giant helium inflatables. So take that, NYC!

If you opt to stay home like us, watch the parade Thanksgiving morning from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on ABC. It's estimated that the 52% of US households will be tuning in with you.
