Sox Pride

Sure, we're about to be blasted with some arctic air this weekend, but that doesn't mean we fantisizing can't start about warmer weather ahead. And warmer weather means baseball! At least, if you're a White Sox fan...

2005_01_sports_sox_pride_wristband.jpgThe White Sox's annual SoxFest kicks this Friday. Running Friday - Sunday at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, the Sox annual fan convention features skills clinics, question-and-answer sessions and autograph signings by current and former White Sox players.

At this year's SoxFest, the Sox will begin selling black rubber "Sox Pride" wristbands in support of Chicago White Sox Charities. The $2 rubber wristbands, similar to the yellow ones promoted by Lance Armstrong last summer, will initially only be available at SoxFest this weekend, although the team says they will begin marketing them prior to the start of the season.

In conjunction with SoxFest, the White Sox also begin selling tickets for the 2005 season on Friday beginning at 10:00am. Tickets will be available for single games, as well as their new "Minnie" 9-game and "Ozzie" 13-game packages, partial and full season packages. Chicagoist hopes we can get through to get tickets for the Cubs-Sox games June 24-26.
