Bye Bye Brown Line

2005_01_francisco.jpgThe CTA will be closing 15 stations on the Brown Line for various lengths of time as part of the line's upcoming renovation. The closings will range from 6 weekends at some stations to a year at others and will occur on a staggered basis. But don't get your undies in a bundle yet. The most used stations, Belmont, Fullerton and Western, won't be closing at all and the others aren't scheduled to close until after September. Here's the lowdown:

2005_01_BrownTrain.jpgArmitage, Sedgwick, Chicago: Remain open on weekdays. Will close concurrently for up to 6 weeks.

2005_01_BrownTrain.jpgDamen, Montrose, Irving Park, Addison, Paulina, Southport, Wellington, Diversey: Closed temporarily on weekdays and weekends. No adjacent stations will be closed at the same time.

2005_01_BrownTrain.jpgKimball, Kedzie, Fancisco, Rockwell: Temporary closings on weekdays and weekends. No adjacent stations closed simultaneously. Stations will be closed concurrently for up to 10 weekends.
