Chicagoist: ComEd Evicts Deadbeat Parakeets

I have been watching a nest of parakeets in the 4300 block of south King Drive. I have counted four to six birds. I am intrigued because they appear to be hanging downward. Maybe they heard the Chicago saying "If you don't like the weather just hang around"

There's more nests on power poles around 5350 south kimbark, in the park, wonder if they'll go after those. I live by Harold Washington park, where the big tree fulla these guys fell over last year. They're still loads of them, now in new nests. I like them, but only because they're reasonably far from me - they make quite a racket.

The suburb where my parents reside, Bridgeview, has a parakeet population there. I thought I was going nuts when I saw them, but this apparently confirms what I saw. It is seriously the weirdest thing in the world to see a bunch of green parakeets IN THE SNOW.
