Cab Fares Increase TODAY

We've gone over this tons, but today is the day that the cab fare hike goes into effect. So if it seemed like your fares were more today, you weren't imagining it, they were! New rates are:

Initial Charge$1.90$2.25
Per Mile$1.60$1.80
Second Passenger$0.50$1.00
Additional Passenger (3+)$0.50$0.50

No problem - I'll just decrease the tip I leave.

Every time a cab tries to run me down, I add another month to the length of time I won't be taking cabs.

/I'm up to November 2025 now. I'm sure it will be 2027 by the end of next week.

/I could be one of their best customers. I don't own a car and I go places. What kind of a business plan involves trying to kill your customers?

To kind of go along with Moon's comment... I hope that along with the fare increase that they improve the taxi experience in this city.

They drive like maniacs, they honk their horns constantly, they talk on their cell phone, they take the long way/claim to misunderstand where you're going, some don't bathe enough, etc. Fixing these issues would probably result in better tips.
