Actually a friend of mine heard they were in the process of transporting it to a grocery store so it could be on display for everyone to see. They then intended on sending it back into the river. PApparently the poor fish died of shock. You would think they would of taken better care of the fish. Everyone knows that fish tend to die when you move them around too much.

What jerks. I hate how every time we catch a record animal we have to keep it in captivity until it dies. What a great loss to the river.

Somebody finally caught General Sherman! One man before actually came close. Went by the name of Homer. Seven feet tall he was, with arms like tree trunks. His eyes were like steel, cold, hard. Had a shock of hair, red like the fires of Hell.

I heard this guy on ESPN Radio while driving home from work yesterday. The fish has actually since died and will be autopsied to determine its age & sex.

"biggest catch in Illinois", "World Record"... let's think of the catfish itself. how old was this thing? how long must it take for a catfish to grow this large? what is the lifespan of a fish? these are questions that no one will ever be able to answer... pass the butter.
