My blood bros. were part of the film crew and worked making the sets. Believe me, they spent a lot of time filming in Chi town. Enough time that Belushi rented a place that was a "social club" (SC) for after hours parties. And boy, did they party!

Check out this link This is the funniest thing I have ever seen. Someone broke into the Dixie mall and drove a bluesmobile replica through it. I can't take credit for finding this though, it was featured in the Sun-Times article.

I note above that portions of the film are filmed outside the city. But a majority of it was filmed in the city proper or its outlying neighborhoods.

The quintessential chicago movie, only it wasn't filmed in Chicago (well, the majority of it wasn't anyway).
