I live close to Wrigley and heard rumors that streets will be closed for the Jimmy Buffett shows this weekend. I just want to be prepared for all the parrotheads and margaritas...any info? I may need get a hotel downtown for the weekend - just in case!
Thanks for the k-nowledge,
Sarah
Hi Sarah,
Oh, sure, you want to" leave the chaos" of the Jimmy Buffett fans! We'll play along with you, even though it is thrillingly, delightfully!, obvious that you are planning an extended weekend stay in Margaritaville. We corralled our extensive staff of researchers, plugged in the Chicagoist blender, knocked back a few margaritas, and googled like fiends... but we weren't able to find out about street closures.
Do any of you readers out there have any intelligence on this pressing matter?
Jimmy Buffett will perform his magic at Wrigley Field this weekend, Sunday, September 4, at 7pm, and Monday, September 5 at 3pm. Watch out for parrot droppings, folks!
Worried about that lost shaker of salt? Need some advice? Email Ask(at)Chicagoist.com!

How will a night of Jimmy Buffet be any different from a night of Cubs baseball, either way you're wastin' away again in margaritaville.
Nothing on street closures but the CTA is running more Addison buses:

There are two "T"s in "Buffett."
"How will a night of Jimmy Buffet (sic) be any different from a night of Cubs baseball, either way you're wastin' away again in margaritaville."
Speaking as a long-suffering Cubs fan the difference is that this weekend people at the ol' ballpark will actually be paying attention to the happenings on the field.
JimIN LS: Thanks.. i knew something was up! I should have known something was amiss, because i've been SO hungry all afternoon. Affterrnoonn.
Now that the spelling of "Buffett" has been repaired in the article, my earlier posting just makes me look autistic.
Hey Sarah,
Are you for real? Seriously, have fun, live a little...who could say no to a weekend long getaway in Margarittaville. If having fun is too much, perhaps you should stay home and read a book.
Did sarah survive?
Yes, survived and actually enjoyed the streaming radio at the bar - live from Wrigley! Thanks to Messners for the free pizza and margarita specials!
