I wasn't there, but I heard Weiss was acting batshit crazy at the Wicked press conference. It's still pretty weak to ban her, but I guess it also created the most possible publicity for all involved.

You are correct, sir. Drury Lane still hasn't updated their site so I didn't find out until this morning, when I heard about Spelling Bee's brush up with Sun Times theater critic Hedy Weiss. (bad) But their partnership with Broadway in Chicago will raise their visibility (smart) and they're planning to draw heavily from local talent (good).
