I love me some Kill Hannah, but I don't get why people are even on here defending them. If they like them, that's great and all that should matter, right? Different strokes for different folks.

oh goodness. children. they're BANDS for fscks sake. If someone says they're good or they're bad, neither is right because "good" and "bad" are opinions and everyone has their own. also, on the part of the assassins being dropped and kill hannah selling a lot (i for one agree) but has anyone ever read the poem The Rhodora by emerson? yeah it's like that.

Man oh man do you miss the point, but I'm not going to get drawn into a fight about frickin' Kill Hannah over a piece that's actually about a bunch of other bands fan-boy. However, you can peep my review of their last disc here. Try to keep in mind it's meant as rock criticism, and not the holy writ of law.

You have a weird take on music...I wouldn't think that YOU would have to like Creed because they sold lots of cd's, but I certainly wouldn't harass anyone for liking any music, or even condescend Creed or any other band. Ultimately, nobody really gives a shit what kind of music you listen to or like. To that point, I would say that the more cd's that sell, the more worthy the band is since more people seem to agree that it's good music. I think Tankboy's reply harks of highschool kids that judged others by what music they liked. I liked the Pet Shop Boys in high school, and people thought I wasn't cool. Oh well...they were wrong. By the way, where are your writings about that other band? I'm curious now.

I've gone into Kill Hannah's weaknesses at great length in the past and don't feel like either rehashing that territory or turning this into a piece about them, really. I'll stand by my view that while I like a few guys in the band that's not enough for me to overlook the weak and derivitive songs written by Mat(t). It's just my criticism, though, and I'm not forcing anyone else to embrace it so chill. I will say that record sales and label behavior have nothing to do with a band's worthiness. Are you telling me I should respect Creed? I mean, they sold millions of records, right? So if I should like Kill Hannah for selling 100,000 discs then I should love Creed, right. And I should probably start humping any Johnm Tesh disc I come across too since he's sold an ass-load of records over the years!

Hrmmm. Lets see. Band that sold 100,000 records, (Kill Hannah) or band that got dropped from label. (Assasins). I say that both make a darn good show. What's wrong with Kill Hannah? They have outlasted nearly all Chicago bands, and have actually played more Chicago shows than the Pumpkins.
