"Tank" Johnson In Trouble with the Law Again

Like Frank "the Tank" in OId School, the Bears' "Tank" Johnson just never learns that there comes a time to tone it down a bit. The Bears defensive lineman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest early Sunday morning.

2006_02_sports_tank_johnson.jpgAccording to the police report, Johnson was arrested near the Level night club around 3:45am when an officer attempted to issue a citation to Johnson because a limo he'd hired was obstructing traffic.

Johnson said what are probably the words least likely thing to get you out of a ticket when he informed the cop, "You ain't the only one with a Glock. If it wasn't for your gun and your badge, I'd kick your ass."

A struggle ensued when the officer tried to arrest Tank, and the officer sprayed him with Mace and required the assistance of other cops to finally overpower and cuff him. Because of injuried suffered during the struggle, Johnson spent part of Sunday getting an MRI after being released from jail.

Amazingly, Johnson was not charged with any weapons violations Sunday. Guess he was bluffing about having a Glock. Was it left in the limo and the cops didn't search for weapons? Was he smart enough to leave it at home? Because he wasn't smart enough to leave the dangerous toys at home last June, leading to an arrest outside Excalibur for carrying a concealed Ruger 9mm handgun under the seat of his SUV.

He eventually plead guilty to a misdemeanor stemming from that arrest and is currently on probation. No word yet on whether his arrest this weekend violated terms of his probation and could land him in some real hot water.

Chicagoist has a feeling this won't be the last time that the Chicago police and Tank Johnson have a difference of opinion. Anyone want to make a prediction of the crime and cheesy nightclub that'll be the scene of the next Tank Johnson run-in? Chicagoist predicts assult and battery after hitting a patron at the Leg Room.

What a scumbag! (and an idiot)

home loans Probaly you should read this. home loans Hope this helps. See you next life

seriously, this guy has problems. I'm surprised he's not kicked off the team.

Chicago Police are completely corrupt, I'm sure the police report has been massaged. In my one dealings with they knocked on my door in the middle of the night and wouldn't show ID to the peephole. When I wouldn't open the door they illegally sprayed pepper spray under the door.

Guys like this have stalker fans that include cops too and just want their privacy. They don't go looking for interactions with anonymous strangers, they avoid them.

What could he be think'n???
HIGH PROFILE
...spits in the face of authority, violates parole
Hmmmmmmmmmmm...........
I wonder if he's another wannabe Rap artist???
...friend of Trump? a la Snoop
In a "word" Arrogant, Immature, inane, paranoid.
HALF WIT

It is not his probulem johnson should doin everything he did so all u saying he has problems u's have problems

Good grief! You folks in Illinois sure have a problem with the Second Amendment and the right to keep and bear arms.
Had Tank Johnson been a Seahawk and these incidents happened in the State of Washington, no criminal charges could have been filed based on the guns.
We do not require registration of lawfully owned firearms. We only prohibit firearms ownership to those convicted of felonies and domestic violence misdemeanors.
When a cop pulls over a vehicle and finds a firearm within it, whether under a seat or elsewhere, he will run the check with the dispatcher for felony and DV convictions, and any restraining order. If no such are found, he has to return the firearm to its lawful owner and allow the driver and the vehicle to continue on its way if there are no other reasons to detain either.
Washington may be a liberal state prone to electing Democrats, but we seem to have a bunch of Democrat voters who nevertheless will not tolerate gun grabbers and gun control legislation such as the Illinois statutes under which Tank was convicted.
Had Tank been a Seahawk, he would not be facing an 8 game suspension.

thats too bad too, because he's a really good defensive tackle. I'm surprised he's not kicked off the team yet.

So that is a proud thing, to live in a left wing state? Tank Johnson is a dirtbag, and he is close to commiting some more serious crime, mark my words. The Bears look like losers putting up with him. Trade him to Cicinnati, they need a scumbag on the defensive line.
