I think Blago did pretty well for himself on the Daily Show. He generally deserves the flak given to him but in this case it's just Chicagoist trying to be funny and failing.

Hi, I've recently moved to Chicago from Los Angeles. It seems like Gov. Blago gets a lot of flack on this site, but from what I've read in other news articles he seems like an alright guy. Anyone want to clue me in on why he's a bad guy? Thanks

I also thought Blago did OK. He did try to be funny with that Schwarzenegger joke. The thing that made me laugh was how they positioned Blago, making it seem like he has a tiny head. Maybe they were just trying to fit in all his hair in the shot.

I always wondered what kind of people were stupid enough to actually agree to do an interview with the Daily Show. But something about this seems a little different. I feel like maybe the governor was playing along. He may not have "gotten" it completely, but I think it served a purpose for him: -He got some national exposure on an issue he has been championing. -He got excellent local coverage, with many stations putting him in the same news story as Obama winning a grammy -He didn't come off as the hard-ass most people look like on the show. -He got to joke around on a prime cable show (even if the jokes were lame), making him look more human To be honest, I think it worked out for him, even if we are all laughing at (with?) him...
