Um, John Lott is definitely *not* a "Yale professor." The guy has never held a tenured professorship in his life. He's had temporary visiting professorships and research positions, including one at Yale, but not anything beyond that. Lott is truly a scoundrel. He almost certainly fabricated some of his data, and he's also used methodologies that no serious scholar would condone. He's basically been run out of academia because of this stuff. He's a fool and opportunistic greedhead for going after someone as esteemed as Levitt. I would love to see this come to trial, because Lott's reputation, or what's left of it, will end up in tatters.
