Don't Believe the Fiction - McDonald's is Nothing But Healthy

big mac.JPGMove over James Frey – McDonald’s says it's planning to fight back against fictional information about the company being sold as fact. Books such as “Fast Food Nation” and “Chew On This” have gone so far as to claim that the fast food giant’s products are unhealthy (gasp!) and poor quality (shock!), and the company has had enough.

At a meeting with stockholders in Oak Brook today, CEO Jim Skinner said, "Fictitious information irresponsibly published and reported in the media has people questioning the quality and safety of fast food in general.” Yeah, tell that to our colons Skinner.

So, he’s out to set the record straight that McDonald’s food is perfectly healthy and safe. What happened to the “we know our food’s not healthy, but you shouldn’t eat it every day” response from the “Super Size Me” fallout?

The company plans to roll out some new smoothies and iced coffee drinks soon. 'Cause nothing says healthy like a 1,000-calorie McFrappuccino.
