- This weekend's Avon Walk for Breast Cancer raised a record $8.2 million.
- Mayor Daley got an award for making Chicago more livable at the US Conference of Mayors this weekend. He was honored for the Chicago Bicycle Program.
- Daley also declared June 2 to be Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Veterans of America Day, a day when gay veterans will be honored for their bravery.
