Sox Send Six, Cubs One

Major League Baseball announced the rosters for next week's All Star Game yesterday, and 6 members of the White Sox were selected, along with one Cub -- Carlos Zambrano.
While none of the Sox were elected by the fans to start (damn East Coast bias), the White Sox had the benefit of their manager managing the team and stacking the roster. Added to the roster were Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Jermaine Dye, Mark Buehrle, Jose Contreras and Bobby Jenks. Even with that many included, there are still some who got the shaft. Joe Crede clearly deserves to be there this year, too. Chicagoist thinks so. Ozzie thinks so. There is still the possibility that one more member of the White Sox could be added to the roster, however.
A.J. Pierzynski is among the five finalists for the Monster 2006 All-Star Final Vote. Fans have the opportunity to vote one final player into the All Star game, and A.J.'s going up against Travis Hafner (Indians), Ramon Hernandez (Orioles), Francisco Liriano (Twins) and Justin Verlander (Tigers).
We got Scott Podsednik into the game this way last season, so now let's get A.J. in! Remember, we're Chicagoans -- vote early and often. Love him or hate him, no one can deny the All Star Game will certainly be more interesting with him there.
