while i fastidiously adhere to punk rock etiquette, that rule makes me sad. not because i would EVER do anything of the sort, but i wonder why on earth we would want to squelch someone's obvious, albeit dorky, excitement for a band we both supposedly love? it's kind of anti-community.

Exceptions can and should be made if you are wearing a t-shirt you bought at the venue. Especially if you are boldly dorky enough to wear it over the shirt you arrived in.

went to an nin concert 10+ years ago. one of my sister's buddies bought three nin shirts. wore them all, soaked them all through with sweat, and got blood on at least one of them.

You shouldn't go to a show wearing the T-shirt of the band you're watching....I totally agree! Why do people do this? When they wear a shirt that they got at a show 10 years ago, am I supposed to think they are some sort of super-fan? Dude, we know you like the band, that's why you are here, isn't it? Or they buy a shirt that day and wear it over the shirt they wore to the show. WTF?
