My girlfriend got a ticket on LSD for talking on her cell phone without a handsfree - but the cop didn't show up in court, so it got tossed out. I will admit, I was a little happy to see her get the ticket, as I have been constantly telling her that she needs to not do that...guess it took an actual law enforcement official to convince her.

Last week I counted how many folks were yammering away on their phones while driving in a stretch on the Kennedy - I stopped counting at 10 after I was blown away by the guy actually texting on his Blackberry while reading from a sheet of paper - at 50 mph! What are these people thinking?

I saw a cop on a motorcycle pull over a guy who was yammering away on his cell phone as he drove east on Addison. I think the law SHOULD be enforced because I hate when drivers are using one hand to drive and the other to hold the phone. Yesterday I was almost clobbered by a women in a black VW bug who made an illegal U-Turn in the middle of Halsted street while she was on her phone. She got the death from me and I got a "whoopsy!" shrug from her.

I always wonder about the people with more than one air freshener in their car. Like when you see 3 tree air fresheners hanging from the mirror. Either it smells THAT bad in the car, or they are the absolute laziest people on the planet. Lazier than the people with 7 years worth of city stickers taking up half their windshield.

I'm proposing a ban on fuzzy dice and pine tree air fresheners. Recent studies have shown that 79% of all fender benders are caused by people adjusting their fuzzy dice...

What's the use if it is not enforced? This is one of the biggest jokes I have ever seen. Kinda like those "optional stop signs" with the white edges. Come on people, it was a joke!

Yesterday a friend of mine got a ticket for speaking on her cell phone while driving in Chicago. So I guess it does happen. I have a relative who is a cop, and he's never given out a ticket for that. (and no, he can't fix your parking tickets!)
