Chicagoist has had a bad experience with chemistry set explosions, and all we can say is that we wish we'd been wearing some protective goggles and a fire-proof apron. Life in the burn ward ain't fun.
Two Northwestern grad students must be luckier than we are, after a chemical reaction sparked an explosion inside a laboratory in Evanston last night. They sustained minor burns but were able to walk out of the lab to an ambulance. Details of the injuries weren't reported, but we'll bet they had something to do with singed eyebrows.
