Thanks for the update, Jeremy. I'm glad to hear that since I couldnt see any reason why they wouldnt be able to pack that place.

And apparently CWK are doing a "secret" show at Schuba's next week...

Haha, my pleasure, Julene ... it was actually stuck in my head the second I saw the picture. Just thought I'd share.

It has been hours since I read the comments for this post and "Steady as She Goes" is still stuck in my head. Thanks, Dave!

The Cold War Kids show didn't get moved from Schubas to the Hideout, directly.
The Schubas show on the 17th was cancelled when the CWK got the opening slot on the Futureheads tour that was playing Metro the 21st.
Now, since the Futureheads tour got cancelled, they were forced to scramble together a new itinerary.

Not a backer of the band (saw them open for Mates of State at the Abbey, they were alright, not amazing), but wanted to set things straight.

I'm with Smith ... first of all, they have a bassist and a much better drummer (sorry, Meg). And people seem to forget that the other half of the frontmen is Brendan Benson, amazing in his own right (seriously--check out LAPALCO), and very influential on the Raconteurs' sound. The first single, "Steady as She Goes," is straight-up Benson ...

I wouldn't call the Raconteurs a White Stripes cover band at all. Their sound is way more straight-ahead rock rather than they kind of minimalist blues that White Stripes go for.

I love live music, but I would feel like a chump for paying $30 more to see a band just because of the date on the calendar.

Actually, SubT is quite a bit larger than The Bottle, capacity-wise. Don't forget they have that entire second level.
