^wait wasn't it $35 for two? matsuya is one of the oldest japanese restaurants in chicago, and it's also probably one of the few that are actually owned by japanese people. even if it were $35/person, if they upgraded their decor (i.e. get rid of that cubs crap), it'd still be worth everything including the authenticity.

I'm kind of surprised that a $35/person dinner is being pitched as 'cheap'. Especially when the 'cheap stuff' linked to further above is $15/person, all-you-can-eat -- not remotely in the same price league as the restaurant being reviewed. Alas, the trials of the completely-broke food maven continue ...

Yeah, people love to hate on Coast. I've had bad service there, but the food has always been top notch.

Coast bashing is the new black. I've always enjoyed my meals there. Sure, it's no Sakagura, but the food is tasty.
