Brains ... Brains ...

Mondays are usually the official punk rock nights at Delilah’s, but tomorrow you can see Bad Brains bring its D.C. hardcore punk to the joint, via a new DVD of its Live at CBGB’s 2006_10_badbrains.jpgset from 1982.

Recorded during the Christmas holidays, the film takes performances from a three-day hardcore music festival at CBGB’s at a time when the band was at the height of its power.

According to Wikipedia, Bad Brains recently played a few dates at the soon-to-be-closed CBGB’s (which has seen more farewell performances lately than the last Barbra Streisand tour) and has been working on an upcoming album and tour. But their legendary status can only be confirmed by seeing them here back in the day.

The DVD version of Live at CBGB’s is set for release on Halloween, but you can pick it up tomorrow at a discounted price whilst throwing back $2 Rolling Rocks and $2 shots of Rebel Yell bourbon, which may or may not lead you to dance like Billy Idol. The screening starts at 7 p.m.

CBGB is about to have its last-ever show :( Sad am I. They've lost their lease.

CBGBs is indeed closed, as of this weekend. Check out the New York Times website.
