A fine establishment, once owned by the Ricobene's family and then known as "Ricobene's"/"Rosario's" something that surely confused those looking for the famous breaded steak available on 26th St. The ownership and name changed to "Vi's" and now "Uncle Johnny's". Definitely one of the older establishments in the neighborhood. Chuck is right on with his suggestion of picking up sausage/beef by the pound. Some of the best beef in Chicago, it rarely gets a bleep on the radar screen of the ubiquitous top-beef joint lists. Lastly, the building directly across the street was a lost and found feature some time back.

I remember going there when I worked on load docks nearby fifteen years ago. Their breaded steak sandwich is terrific a must try if you are not on a health kick.

succufucculent. why have i never heard this word before? it gets me all hot and bothered. must add to lexicon... wouldn't touch a breaded steak sandwich with a ten-foot pole, tho.
