Tom Skilling Gets out of Jury Duty, More Rain Coming

2006_10_26rain.jpgIt’s been a rough week for the Skillings. Dare we say, a stormy one?

On Monday, Jeffrey Skilling was sentenced to 24 years for his role in the Enron debacle. Yesterday, Tom Skilling reported for jury duty at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse only to be questioned about his brother’s legal troubles and the impact on his family.

The judge even asked him about Friday’s forecast, to which Skilling replied, “We’ve got a storm coming.”

And so went Tom Skilling's shortest weather forecast ever.

Here in Chicago, we should miss the worst of it, but St. Louis may not be so lucky. Sorry, baseball fans.

Ultimately, Skilling was excused by defense attorneys who said he’s too popular and would be a distraction in the case.

Skilling should be in jail with his drunk, corrupt brother. Just like his brother lied about the state of Enron's finances, little Tommy said it wasn't supposed to rain today.

You mean he didn't go on a 20 minute diatribe about Wind direction?

Good one Joanna ... "And so went Tom Skilling's shortest weather forecast ever."

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

what i don't get is the jurors and people in the courtroom huddling around him and offering him their condolences as if his brother wasn't guilty of a damned thing. jaysus, he gives weather reports on TV. that's what he does. he's not simon lebon or something...
