Tow Truck? No Problem

By Matt Wood in News on Nov 1, 2006 6:56PM

What's Halloween without a few pranks? In the city, it's a little harder to find enough trees to support an impressive TP-ing job, and the ol' soaping windows trick just might get your ass kicked. But one cabbie played a trick on the city yesterday that looks like it won't be forgotten.

chicagoist_200611_cab.jpgLocal blogger Luke Pickard was riding in a cab yesterday when he noticed a tow truck towing another cab in front of them. As they were driving along what looks like Lake Street, he also noticed a man coming out of a Dunkin Donuts with some coffee, following the towed cab. After a few blocks, the man jumped in the cab while it was being towed, pulled it off the lift, and drove away, sparking cheers all around.

Now before you give this cabbie too much credit for his tow truck vigilantism, just remember that once a car gets towed, they also, you know, WRITE DOWN THE LICENSE PLATE NUMBER. We're sure he'll be laughing about his little stunt when the city slaps a huge fine on his ass.
