We’re so over celebrity baby gossip, but there is one recent birth we’re excited about. Semliki, an okapi at Brookfield Zoo, gave birth to a baby girl in September, and the zoo officially announced her arrival today. (But really, how like a celebrity to try to keep it under wraps. We knew we saw a bump, Semliki!)
Following in Brangelina’s footsteps, Semliki named her baby Sauda, a Swahili word that means “dark beauty.” Hey, at least it sounds pretty, which is the most celebrity babies can hope for in a name, right Pilot Inspektor Riesgraf Lee?
There’s already much discussion about how the baby looks. She’s got stripes like a zebra, but the animal’s actually related to the giraffe. Our advice? Schedule some play dates with Suri Cruise – she’s totally been there.
Sauda is expected to make a public debut in the spring, but look for a "Vanity Fair" cover soon.

Aw! Sauda is such a cutie. Way cuter than the baby pandas that got so much press but just looked like worms.
i'm not sure exactly what okapis are (i'm too lazy to research right now), but they are SMUSSY!
