holy shit! shadowlands. i never even know anyone who's seen that movie. i remember two friends and i went to see some movie and it was the dead of winter and it was zero zero zero out and the movie we went to see was sold out. so it was super cold and we had to make a decision -- fast. and we picked shadowlands. i didn't really know much about the movie, and wow. i sobbed and sobbed. silently, of course. but i was wrecked by that movie. in a good way. i haven't seen it since. maybe i should give it another run.

"The Lord of the Rings." All three of them really have their moments, but I'll just mention one. At the end of "Fellowship of the Ring," when Sam swims after Frodo and Frodo has to rescue him from nearly drowning, and Sam just says "I made a promise, Mr. Frodo. A promise. 'Don't you leave him, Samwise Gamgee!' And I don't mean to. I don't mean to."

"Field of Dreams" is a surefire way to make me cry. "Dad, do you wanna have a catch?" is one of those lines that just automatically makes me cry. I wailed during the first time I saw "Love Actually". Granted, it was a weird stage in my life...but, yeah, showing unrequitted love on cue cards...tugs at the heartstrings. "Armageddon". Yes. "Armageddon". When William Fichtner asks if he can shake Liev Tyler's hand, I tend to break down.

I love It's A Wonderful Life. I'm so excited that you listed that movie!! I could watch it anytime! I love the 1930's socialist undertones, mixed with the good side of American faith, family, and christianity. Watching that movie takes me back to a time when we were still the good guys in the world. And Donna Reed is hot!
