Alaska? Iceland? Actually, this is The Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentine Patagonia. And Lisa Lubin used to be there, but not any more. Let us back up to the beginning, though..

Lisa Lubin is a former TV producer at ABC7 who helped start the show "190 North." In her 9 years in Chicago she completely immersed herself in the city. She played in a summer tennis program, owned real estate, taught a TV production class at Columbia College, volunteered for PAWS, took improv classes, tutored English as a Second Language, and volunteered as a "Chicago Greeter." Like many of us, Lisa always had the drive and curiosity to travel all over the world. Unlike most of us, she came to a place in her life where she had very few ties keeping her here and she was financially able to take time off and travel the world. Oh, and she actually had the balls to do it, too.

Lisa has been off to see the world, write about it, take photos and most importantly, meet the great people of this earth. She's taking a full year off to travel. She'll be surfing in Costa Rica, biking through Vietnam, climbing volcanoes in Ecuador, and literally walking around the world. It's interesting for us to see her do it through the eyes of a true Chicagoan. Lisa's blog is LL World Tour and she's already got a ton of photos and stories from her travels... and they've only just begun.

So far Lisa's been in Costa Rica (Oct. 5 - 25); Galapagos Islands (Oct. 26 - Nov. 9); Chile (Nov. 10 - 23); Argentina (Nov. 23 - Dec. 3); New Zealand (Dec. 5 - 15); and has just gotten to Australia. After Australia, Lisa will be hitting up Asia in February and March: Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Singapore. Then she'll be going to Dubai and Turkey in March and April. Through the summer, Lisa will be in Eastern Europe: Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Baltics) and finally, she'll be in Western Europe: Germany, France, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Sound like the dream year of your life? Sound like a scary nightmare? Either way, check in on her at LL World Tour to see what adventures our local girl is getting into.
