Kirby, my original review of Zapatista was with a dinner date (knowledge you should have had before you posted your comment; I linked to all the reviews). As I mentioned then, the service was just as impeccable. What made the service during the Chicagoist staff dinner stand out was that Zapatista was packed on this particular evening. It was what I like to call "nut-to-butt tight." Don't take this the wrong way, but maybe with a name like "Kirby von Awesome", you're have some unrealistic expectations. Thanks for reading.

Hmm....maybe the best way to get a feel for the service at a restaurant is not to go with a party fo 25. I live right near Zapatista and have gone there many times for lack of other options. While they may serve a part of 25 quite well I can tell you that they haven't figured out how to serve a party of two at all. Terrible service normally.
