nmpkm - how do you really feel about Santullo's? The service was really good the night I went... Maybe because it was a random wednesday night in the middle of the winter?

The service is terrible in the summer, especially if you eat outside. Several times I've seen people that have already been seated and ordered food, get up and walk about because they haven't seen their server in the past hour. If you can get past that, the sloppy joe is unreal.

Silver Cloud's pork chop and eggs. The chops have a Jack Daniels marinade or glaze of some sort on them. MMM mmm MMM mmm MMM!! Now that's good eatin' - also the Brie Burger (known in some circles as The White Burger), a very tasty lunch treat. Y'all are right on the service issue, get there early or get there late, but avoid between say 11:30 and 1:30 on the weekends...

Beth is right, it is a totally different place when its not slammed, so if you go for food, I'd try for the off hours. As per the worse service ever... try Santullo's on North. The pizza is easily the best thin crust New York style I've had, but the wait staff is exclusively made up of the worst kind of jaded, apathetic, trucker-hat and huge belt buckle clad hipster Wicker Park has to offer. Also their equipment is always broken, and you'll probably get more than a few eye rolls if you make a simple request. So, Silver Cloud has a long way to go for terrible service.

I like their food, but man oh man is the place smoky. I don't mind a little cigarette smoke. But Silver Cloud gets really smoky at night. I realize it's a bar, too, and I think people should be able to smoke. But just a fair warning to those who don't like smoke.

i hate this place. maybe its different in the winter but, in the busy summer - AVOID at all costs. i've given it 3 tries. the menu sounds good but the food never measures up. a 20 minute wait turns into 2 hours. the service is horrific. actually, it is the worst service i've ever experienced. just walking by there makes me angry.

I've been known to spend the night at people's houses that live in close proximity to Silver Cloud just to wake up after a night of drinking and have a grilled cheese some tomato soup. Highly recommended.

I'm a big fan of their breakfast food. Great french toast.
