GrubHub Doing Good & Making Us Fat

2007_1_grubhub.jpgWe always like it when someone helps us take something that is already easy, and make it easier. Hello, GrubHub, nice to meet you, and thanks for allowing us to order in without even picking up the delivery menu. The site allows you to enter your address and find all the area restaurants who will deliver to you and then, in many cases, place an order through the site.

GrubHub is awesome in a snowstorm, and is also awesome this week during National Take-Out & Delivery Week which runs from yesterday through February 4. GrubHub co-founder Matt Maloney said that he expects though the Super Bowl is generally the second busiest day of the year for food delivery, he expects this Sunday to be their biggest day of the year due to the Bears' involvement. In celebration of all this gluttony, GrubHub has created a week-long promotion leading up to the big day: order through GrubHub and they will donate a meal to Chicago Meals on Wheels for every order placed. Not a bad deal for doing what you do anyway, right?

GrubHub seems to know a good thing when they see it. One in seven families order take-out/delivery on Super Bowl Sunday. Pizza is the number one meal item ordered, followed by ribs, sushi and Mexican food.
