i dont see what the big deal is....and to RS who seem to hate big corporations...do you ever get angry when you see those missing pet signs stapled to every tree in your block? Its a marketing ploy that had some unfortunate results in boston. i'm sure turner will pay a lot of money for what they did but i bet you that the publicity that the cartoon got is way more than what they will pay in fines.

Ignignokt and Err would be so proud of all the havoc they have created. I love the cartoon, and heard the movie is "meh," but I will gladly fork over my $10 to make it a blockbuster.

My problem with the whole thing has more to do with large corporations (the Cartoon Network is part of Turner, which is part of AOL/Warner), making up their own rules. This reminds me a bit of the problems last year with Sony when they sent out people to graffiti buildings (without permission of the owners) with a marketing campaign of theirs. Corporately sanctioned vandalism. Nice. And who foots the bill for cleaning it up? In this case, I find it hard to believe that leaving ANY type of electronic device on underpasses or bridges, again without permission and surely illegal, was cleared by the legal department of the world’s largest entertainment corporation. And again, who was going to pay for cleaning up the Lite-Brites left behind when the promotion was over? Yes, we live in a culture of fear, but we also live in a place where mega-corporations don’t give a crap about public or private property. Anyplace is fair game for them to slap their ads.

I saw at least two of these over the past week, though for the life of me, I can't remember where. One was on an overpass in the upper right corner, possibly on the Kennedy. Other was on the Blue Line, I think the Western stop crossover? I'd be curious to see a list of where they were...
