I think the defense had a good game, but not a great game. Stats don't matter, the only thing that matters is the score. Granted the Bears lost, but it could have been a lot worse if the defense hadn't kept them out of the endzone. The real question is, what now? What happens to Grossman? His contract is up. What about Thomas Jones? Trade him or keep him? Briggs? Franchise tag? The Bears are in a position to keep this team together for the most part, they should do it.

I'm sorry, Lou, but the defense did not play well. Anytime you give up over 190 yards rushing, that's pretty terrible. They did a good job keeping the Colts out of the endzone, but other than that, this was not a good showing by the defense at all. Grossman played bad, no doubt about it, but this loss doesn't rest solely on his shoulders.

And I agree that Ron Turner's play calling was crap. What happened to the play action pass???

Rex Grossman had a horrible game, that goes without saying. But Ron Turner really shit the bed last night I feel, or maybe it was Lovie. The play calling was god-awful. They weren't running the ball enough, they weren't getting the ball to Des Clark or Jason McKie. If you put too much pressure on Rex to make the big play-which the Colts defense does not surrender often-he's going to make mistakes.

Well, this showed one thing, one thing that everyone in Chicago knew all year long. Grossman is not a franchise quarterback. He is only slightly better than Griese or Orton. Orton took substantially the same team almost as far last year.

The moral is, the Bears are great, Grossman is terrible. And despite the people crying that he was being overly criticized it was all deserved.

Last night was probably the worst single person performance I have ever seen. The defense played great, any defense that can stay on the field almost the entire game and stand up to a Peyton/Rhodes/Addai onslaught is worthy of being in the Superbowl. Even the offense did well other than Grossman. When thrown, catches were made, and Jones had a 100+ rushing game. What is the one factor that kept the bears from hoisting the Lombardi trophy? Grossman, two easy fumbles and two passes that were about 10 yards short and easily interceptible?

He would have been second string at Florida if he was fumbling snaps during big games. Hey it rains in football! Learn to deal with it.

ahahahahaha

other than getting lucky on the opening kickoff, that was a pretty sad performance on every side of the ball. of course, making the super bowl in the NFC this year was about equivalent to making the playoffs in the AFC. the bears wouldn't have stood much of a chance against about half of the teams in the AFC...
