<description>&lt;p&gt;I agree eminent domain laws can be nuts, but to be fair, the Mega Mall owner showed absolutely no interest in addressing the 100+ building code violations *until* the building was declared a nuisance and eminent domain proceedings began.

it&apos;s a bit heavy handed of a tactic, absolutely, but  what would have happened if nothing had been done and a catastrophe occurred?  I&apos;m guessing you&apos;d see people complaining that the govt didn&apos;t act quickly or forcefully enough.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;For me, Colon comes out on top quite easily, but I&apos;m still quite disturbed that he is still pushing the city to seize the Mega Mall under emminent domain. The owner just spent 2m to bring it up to code, and they still want to swipe it from him and tear it down. That&apos;s yet another example of how emminent domain laws are out of control.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
