<p>Tickets go on sale Saturday for a band called Porcupine Tree at Park West on 5/17. They get lumped in with a certain breed of "newer" prog rock -- older than Mars Volta but newer than, uh, 80s-era Yes and Genesis? -- but I think that might be a little unfair, given how muscular their last record was back in 2005.

Although I just looked at the track details for their upcoming record, and there's three 7-minute tracks and one clocking in at 17:42, so maybe I'm protesting a little too much on their behalf. Deadwing was still a really cool record.
