It's (Almost) Official: Matthews Out, Police In

2007_03_thepolice_young.jpgThe Sun-Times reports that it won't be officially announced until Wednesday, but the City Council has made it pretty obvious that The Police will be playing Wrigley Field July 5 and 6. (Originally Dave Matthews had been in talks to do so, but, thank goodness, they and their over-exuberant bus septic system will be staying away from Chicago that weekend.)

We have been stoked about this show since Wrigley was first rumored to be their Chicago stop, but we admit that the resulting ticket prices have spooked us a little. And while it was nice to see the boys at the Grammys, the jazz-lite "Roxanne" they pulled out spooked us a little more.

Don't get us wrong, we're still hocking whatever we need to in order to afford tickets to this one, but we're really hoping it's worth the price of admission.

will he save me a seat?

Huzzah!

I hope every city could banish "DMB" to the land of wind and ghosts!
