karl, do you not read the actual news in the newspaper? i mean, i go for feder first, then steinberg [don't care for roeper though], but you know, you can also find some local news in between those pages, too.

sweet interview. i don't really know how i feel about steinberg. on the one hand he's got balls for saying how he feels, on the other hand he seems like a nebbish crazy man with a persecution complex. also i don't love his daily news name dropping. i mean, come on. the daily news? what a rag. again, great interview.

Two things struck me here: "Again — I get bored when it’s about me." And yet he is able to take a question that's not about him, and make it all about him. "...what I hated was, that you people don't remember, is that he would write a hundred columns about Baby Richard." I don't know who the "you people" is supposed to be (people under 25?), but I remember those Baby Richard columns. And yes, after a while it was irritating and I wished Greene would move on. But to write a column slamming someone week in and week out, and not sign your name to it is the height of weaselness. I'd search for a better word, but that sums it up well. Having said all that, I admire his forthrightness in the above. And big ups to Mr. Klockars for a good interview.

awesome interview! really great stuff. but why no political questions? chicagoist the deep end-liberal vs. steinberg the conservative....it would have been neat to hash out those differences in the interview. oh well, still it was a great read.
