I eat at L'Appetito all the time. Great bang for your buck. Huge, fresh, caprese sandwiches with far more cheese than $6 normally gets you. Their gelato is also insanely tasty, and only about a $1.50, if I recall.

Try Tony's up on Northwest Highway in Edison Park. They are the best.

There's also another location in Glenview, right by the Metra stop. We've eaten at all three, and not only is the food fantastic, but the owners are hands-on. They recognized my husband as we stopped in on the first day they opened the Glenview restaurant. Their paninis are the best in town.

i had lunch here once with my sis. very nice selection. my mouth watered over the desserts. it'd be great if they delivered..
