Early Bird Gets the Whisky

2007_04_WhiskyFest.jpgMalt Advocate's Whisky Fest Chicago has become an annual tradition. Like filing an extension on our taxes and wondering how many runs the Sox need to produce to guarantee a win in spite of their pitching, it's become a spring tradition. Yesterday we recieved word that this year's Whisky Fest (held next Friday at the Hyatt Regency Downtown) is sold out!! At a starting price of $105 a ticket, Malt Advocate's raking in some serious coin. Not to mention that open flames aren't a good idea near all those people drinking high octane brown liquor.

If you've never been to Whisky Fest, you're missing out on the chance to sample from over 200 different whiskies from around the world. Usually, we tend to hover near the bourbon distillers, but both Unibroue and Goose Island are making appearances there this year, so we'll be darting around the ballroom like a dervish.

If you can't afford the steep price tag for WhiskyFest, or if you didnt get tickets in time, Sam's Wines and Spirits in Lincoln Park is tasting over 200 spirits (mostly whisky and cognac) this Tuesday for only $40.00 - Check it out:
