Still, I agree that there&apos;s no way a few independent council members are going to do anything about Daley&apos;s agenda, if they are truly independent. What it means more to is ward services controlled by the aldermen themselves.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Their leader pulled in over 70 percent of the vote despite going against labor, and anyone who beats a machine backed incumbent will soon become one themselves.  In the 35th, Colom was the machine candidate in 2003, and now Colon is.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
