Can it have a sassy, wisecracking alien in it? We could have Robin Williams do the voice and he could do his HILARIOUS "black preacher voice" or "mincing gay guy" voice. That would be so great!

No, No, No! Maybe Rachel McAdams is ok for clare, but everything else is wrong! It should be a well done indie movie, not a blockbuster. Their life was not action packed in the way an action movie is. This is such a let down, I can't believe Neffinegger let this happen to her baby!

Rachel McAdams was great in Mean Girls but she has been good in everything. I watched The Notebook against my better judgement and wound up really enjoying it. Pretty sure her sassy, wonderful performance had a lot to do with that. And she was pretty good in The Family Stone or whatever that was called. I think she'll do this justice. Clearly I have bad taste in movies -- please, no need to comment on that.

I thought this was a great book as well--found it difficult to put down once I started. When I first read it, I pictured a younger Julianne Moore or Diane Lane as Clare. I think they made a pretty decent choice in Rachel McAdams...

this book was awesome. and just as good the second time around. for some reason, i've always pictured the guy who played max headroom (waaay back!) as henry. tall, lanky, pale. the actor's name is matt frewer. google him and see what i mean. i always pictured audrey herself as clare.....

I took a class taught by the book's author, Audrey Niffenegger, at Columbia College back in '92 or '93. I remember her as pretty interesting. I remember her once saying she tried to live her life in the ways of the 19th century as much as she can... no TV, avoiding extraneous technology. Now her book is to become a summer blockbuster. Weird world. Good for her, though.
