I thought he was saying something about more h/o shows, but then I think he was actually referring to the last show and how different it was than the Riv.

Could Andrew Bird be one of the performers for the Hideout Block Party to celebrate Metro's 25 years? Hmm.

This show was pretty damn good and I have to say that Bird's new pairing with Martin Dosh is one of the best things that ever happened to him. However, going from seeig him at The Hideout back in Jan. to a sold out show at the Riv, was pretty mind blowing. That Hideout show was f'ing incredible.

Is it just me or did he mention more Hideout shows? I couldn't really hear him talking from where I was at.

I think there's something to what Matty's saying minus the 'chicks' comment. I don't think I would have immediately laughed if there wasn't. Plug him into the search box up there if you dare.

Sorry Matty, I gotta go with Cletus on this one. I saw Bird at The Canopy in Champaign last Wednesday, and he was at his best. Easily one of the best shows I've seen this year. Set list was similar to the one at The Riviera - mostly from Armchair Apocrypha - and the guy nailed every song. It's just plain good music.

Well I guess I need to go in for gender reassignment surgery then, because Bird freakin' rocks. He opened for Magnetic Fields (unannounced) at the Old Town School a few years back, and a lesser musician would have been booed off the stage (my first thought was "Who is this asshole?" until he started playing), but he actually got the crowd going to the point where we all forgot how long we'd been waiting for the Fields to return to Chicago.
He might get a lot of love from the ladies (jealous much?), but the dude can bring it.
