Ono was involved with the superweird and interesting and fun Fluxus art movement before she was with Lennon. I like to think he must've respected her, at least; there was no reason to marry her otherwise. That being said, she is not to my taste (AT ALL), so I won't be watching her. But I still don't think it's cool to treat her like the punchline to an old, bad joke.

besides her shrieking and her reputation with Lennon, Yoko Ono heavily contributed, perhaps even prompted, the Feminist revolution in 20th century art. Not venerating Yoko for her contributions would be like hating Thomas Jefferson because he wore an ugly wig.

You people. First of all, Yoko was making "shrieking" long before she met John. Solo she probably qualifues as an "artist" more than a "musician", but so what? How many of you taking cheap shots have heard her new album? Admittedly, it's a bunch of other artists remixing her music, but it really is a solid beautiful album. Yoko has plenty of "songs" with "words" and "notes", but you'll never realize that because you have a preconcieved notion of who she is and what she does. There's no doubt that not everyone will like her, but if you don't like her, why do you feel obligated to take cheap shots?
