Daniel, that's because James really is the shit! I dance to very few bands and he's become a master of doing it with a live band. Very few DJs and bands can get it going like it was at Metro on Sunday. James deserves all of the praises that he's getting.

I don't know, and I'm not knocking the Chicagoist, but I'm tired of a lot of mainstream press really sucking up to James Murphy.

the show they played in chicago in 2005 with MIA was nasty. i'm going to see them here in D.C. on Sunday, we'll see if it meets expectations.

I only caught a bit, but I dug YACHT. I've seen laptop types put on shows where they might as well have been checking e-mail onstage. At least YACHT guy had a ton of energy, had fun performing, and was entertaining to boot. LCD was excellent, but the crowd was way more mook-tastic than any other show I've seen so far this year. Still, they'll probably be playing the Riv or something next time, so I'm not complaining too much. It was a great show.

Yacht SUCKED. That's a poor excuse for a music artist, a loptop and some crappy songs he wrote while sitting on the toilet? We deserved a better act! LCD, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, GREAT TIME!

I missed the majority of Yacht's set due to standing in line to get in after having a beer elsewhere to try and avoid the aforementioned line and didn't really see enough to form much of an opinion. He definitely was having fun on stage.

Amon Tobin ripped up the Metro on Saturday night. It was a great crowd as well. So good that he played a full hour more than he was billed to play. He obviously was just enjoying himself.....Best show I've seen in a long time....

That was the best crowd I've seen in a long time. So much dancing. After party in Smart Bar was a blast too. No love for YACHT?
