Funny interview. I actually love the crazy blog freaks with the weird attitudes about....well, everything. Khakis? Hairloss? Whatever..... In all seriousness, I know a little about this guy. He's the magic behind quite a few "great" singer-songwriters that we all know. You'd think the Chicagoist reader base would be all about a non-pretentious guy who has real talent and works for a living. Nothing "bourgeois" about this guy except for the fact that he has a masters degree in classical guitar (and is smart enough not to mention it in the interview!!). Good stuff!

I'm beginning to think that there is something seriously wrong with some of the Chicagoist reader (commenter) base. . .who cares about someone's hairloss and choice of clothing. The interview was interesting and different. . and it's nice to get an interview in of the man behind the artist(s).

And, Mike I like the Changes. . .sorry your girlfriend was a whore, but no need to wish death upon them.

Guys,

Kanakis has lived in LA for 10 years. Clearly you all realize that Khakis are the new black. I know HE does. Is Cheap Trick the new Styx? I'm so confused.

Mike-

Don't hold back, say what you feel about the Changes. We can handle you being direct.

C'mon- don't be shy. Am I sensing that you want to make love slowly whilst the Changes are playing softly in the background in your candle lit bedroom?

Fuck The Changes. They are the worst band in Chicago. The douche bag singer in that band can eat dicks in hell. I hope they all die in a fucking plane crash on the way to fuck someone elses girlfriend.

good one, Big Dude. i wish julene would have done this interview. it would have been fun to have her ask to take his hat off (check that hairline) and inquire about his collection of khakis. she's so much better than him.

Great interview.

For a random fact of the day I think that Kanakis and Andrew Bird went to high school together (class of '92 and '91 if I recall correctly).

Hey Jason-

Cool interview, good job getting it up and out of Chicago. Very impressive.

And about Cheap Trick- this is Chicagoist- you do have to ask. No respect for them here, paging Julene McCoy.
